This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am privileged to teach the most amazing students in a Title I school in Florida! The school hosts about 760 students with a vast majority of student on free and reduced lunch program.
One thing that you will notice as soon as you walk into our school is a collaborative environment hustling and bustling with teachers, students and administrators.
The students and staff are all moving around and working together with one goal in mind... "Our main goal is reaching all of our students by providing them with all the available resources to meet their social/emotional and academic needs."
My Project
If you walked into my classroom, you'd see students working in groups immersed in personalized learning. You'd see them working out math problems and using materials such as white boards, playing challenging math games, or scouting for books in my classroom library. My students love to sit in their preferred flexible learning spaces to carry out these learning tasks.
Students learning is maximized when students have a wide variety of learning choices during center time.
The materials that my students have been using for the past few years have worn out and are in bad condition. I need to update a few things, so that these centers continue to provide meaningful learning experiences for my students.
