My Students

These are hard working and motivated students who deserve the best. They have mad respect for education and want to be the best they can be in order to get them ready for educations/careers after high school.

My students come from a community that values school.

With their courageous minds and exploratory self, they want to make their families academically proud. Every day I see my students, I see them eager to learn math. I see it in their eyes and actions towards their peers.

My Project

We all know that learning by doing is the most important component for students' retention of content. With the whiteboard markers, I plan on letting my students draw on hand held whiteboards to reinforce mathematical procedures. Whiteboard markers have a magical effect on the kids as opposed to pencil and paper. I see my students eyes light up from their use.

In addition when having my students use the whiteboard markers, I will be pairing up students to make use of those markers.

By designating one student to DESCRIBE their mathematical work and the other student to TRANSCRIBE their partner's work, I have my students work together as a team to help each other understand the content.
