We all know that learning by doing is the most important component for students' retention of content. With the whiteboard markers, I plan on letting my students draw on hand held whiteboards to reinforce mathematical procedures. Whiteboard markers have a magical effect on the kids as opposed to pencil and paper. I see my students eyes light up from their use. In addition when having my students use the whiteboard markers, I will be pairing up students to make use of those markers. By designating one student to DESCRIBE their mathematical work and the other student to TRANSCRIBE their partner's work, I have my students work together as a team to help each other understand the content.
