My Students

“But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Every child deserves to have someone that teaches him or her how to turn on that light.

My students have a love of literature and want to be enveloped by the endless possibilities it has to offer.

Our 1-3 grade school is a low-income rural school that strives to provide rigorous academics in a positive and safe environment. Because of these high academic standards, our students outperform their counterparts throughout the state on a yearly basis. They take pride in their success and yearn for more experiences to learn and discover.

My Project

Reading is a magical experience that every child should be able to encounter. By incorporating a large and diverse classroom library, we are enabling our students to be to find a love for reading while becoming leaders in their educational experiences.

By having a class set of specific books as well as other diverse reading series, I am introducing my students to the various worlds that are available to them through literature. These books will also help to inspire students to become lifelong readers and take the reins of their educational future. We need friends to help us become the leaders we are meant to be through this project.
