Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are resilient, hard-working, and full of potential. However, many of them face "invisible" barriers to education that go beyond basic shool supplies. Our school serves a diverse population where several families struggle with housing instability or a lack of basic utilities. Despite these challenges, my students show up ready to learn, but it is heartbreaking to see a child’s confidence waver because they don't have access to clean clothing.

When a student feels self-conscious about their appearance or the cleanliness of their clothes, they are less likely to participate in class and more likely to stay home.

By providing this basic necessity, we are removing a major barrier to school attendance.

I am requesting a high-quality clothing washer to establish a "Care Laundry Station" within our school. This resource will serve two critical purposes:

Emergency Support: We will be able to provide clean, laundered loaner clothes for students who have accidents or spills during the day.

Community Resource: We will provide a discreet, safe space for students who do not have a working washer at home to wash their clothes.

Your donation will do so much more than just buy an appliance. You are providing:

Dignity: Every student deserves to feel fresh and confident.

Attendance: We know that "look good, feel good, do good" is a real factor in keeping kids in seats.

A Culture of Care: This washer shows our students that their school is a community that sees their needs and supports them holistically.
