Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Funds are tight, but the future is bright!

My students applied and interviewed for a college-readiness elective called AVID.

Many of these special students will be the first generation in their families to graduate or even attend college. Many have English as a second language, economical disadvantages, and most have limited resources to pursue a college education.

Having said that, all of these students have proven to be highly motivated to succeed, and all are dedicated to their own education.

My Project

If my students had one-to-one technology, it would transform the potential for these motivated young students!

The students will use the devices for daily and weekly projects which include college and career research, blogs, research for a Socratic seminar, online challenges for quizzes and tests, Chatter High, virtual college tours, and much more!

We do many projects that require research-based learning, along with reading and writing projects.

My 8th graders will be applying to magnet high schools, and if they had access to devices, they would have many more opportunities to be admitted into these schools.

If my kids had daily access to laptops, it would increase their chances for success in a big way!
