Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in a K-1 bridge self-contained classroom with one teacher and four paraprofessionals. Our community is made up of 12 students that are visual and hands-on learners. Each child has a different diagnosis ranging from Autism to Speech and Language Impairments. They are also ESL or bilingual learners. The students in my classroom come from diverse backgrounds but have one thing in common, they love school, and are very motivated.

We participate in different activities through the school day.

During math, it is very difficult for many of us to use counters. Due to our struggles with focus, the loose counters keep falling on floor, we have a hard time connecting them due to our struggles with our fine motor skills, and we have a hard time keeping them organized. We need magnetic ten frames to help organize our thoughts during math.

We also need some lap writing tables to help us write when sitting down in the rug area. We struggle when writing directly on the floor. We hope you can help us!
