Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the best group of 4th-grade students. We come from a variety of backgrounds. We are a diverse, Title I school. Our students have worked very hard to learn and grow, and have shown tremendous resilience since beginning their elementary school careers. For most of them, this year is their first time back in an actual classroom since the 2nd grade.

Every day, we are focused on learning in a respectful, inclusive, productive environment.

My students are future leaders, innovative business people, doctors, pilots, writers, and hopefully, lifelong learners. I love my students and want the best for them. I want to create a learning experience they can thrive in. We are focused on not only academics but also on our social and emotional skills.

I know that not every student has an ideal home life. As their teacher, it is my goal to provide them with the best learning environment possible. I want my students to feel loved, safe, valued, and inspired. My hope is that their experience in our classroom is a positive, memorable one.

My Project

Our school is in desperate need of a laminator! We need a laminator to laminate posters, student work, and those amazing paper gifts students make. This would be shared with every classroom and every teacher at our school.

We have made classroom books that contain our amazing 4th-grade fiction stories and stories of snowmen adventures.

Now we are making a book of biographies. It would be so nice to have these precious works laminated to drastically improve their life. We have anchor charts and posters that have been destroyed because there is no way to protect them from accidental spills and tears. We would also use the laminator to laminate some of the many math game boards we use in class weekly.
