Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing group of kindergartners who attend a Title I school located in a high-poverty area of Los Angeles. Many of them come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and are second language learners, but they know that hard work is the way to succeed. Although my students may have many challenges, they have a love for learning that is immeasurable.
During this pandemic, my students continue working hard to learn and thrive at school and at home.
Even though some students didn't get the opportunity to attend school during the pandemic, their dedication to achieve shines through!
My Project
Now that this pandemic has changed the way we live our lives every day, my students need to make changes in the classroom too. In the past my students were encouraged to share everything in the classroom.
Now, for the safety of my students, they need to keep their materials separate from their classmates.
The labels will make it easier for them to identify which is their pencil box and pencil. They can label their reusable water bottles, books, baskets, etc.! Keeping them healthy by not spreading germs or the virus is important. The label printer and labels can make a huge difference during the current situation they are living through.
