Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school saying is, "Better today than yesterday! Better tomorrow than today!" I want to make their tomorrow better!
My class consists of a diverse group of learners.
My class has 26 second grade students of varying abilities. The socio-economic background of our students is reflected by our 97% free and reduced-price lunch rate.
I teach in an urban inner city school rich with diversity. Most of my students need additional learning materials to meet grade level expectations. Please help me to make tomorrow better for them!
My Project
My students are energetic learners! They're curious about the world around them.
During science class I ask my students to think like Scientists!
Having White Lab Coats to wear during Science class will allow my students to feel special! They will be transformed into little scientists right before their eyes.
When we worked on our planting unit and the students were observing and recording their findings with their live plants we discussed having lab coats. My students wanted lab coats to feel like real scientists. They said they'd love to have white lab coats to wear for conducting experiments. They make claims and evidence, gather information and analyze different ideas and experiments. Having these lab coats will make my second graders feel like real Scientists while they explore the world around them. I believe getting kids excited to learn is the key to successful learning. Having these lab coats for them to use will be a great addition to our classroom.
