My Students

Our students are craving the use of technology. They love to have technology in their hands. This Kindle Fire will enhance our students learning by giving them opportunities to practice letter recognition, letter sounds, reading, and counting in a fun way. Our school is a moderate poverty K-8 school. Our students come from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. Because of this, some children have had preschool experience, and for some, this is their very first school experience. We have a wide range of academic abilities in our classrooms. We have children reading far above grade level and some that haven't quite mastered the alphabet and the sounds letters make. Kindle Fires will give our children the opportunity to practice these skills in a way they love.

My Project

In order for our students to acquire the skills needed to be a successful 21st learner, they need to have the technology. Due to our schools moderate poverty, our school lacks technology resources. These Kindle Fires will give each student the opportunity to use them to enhance their learning experience by using the many different apps available. The vast amount of apps available will allow us to better differentiate the varied academic needs of our students. Our students will be able to use letter recognition, letter sound, sight word recognition, reading, and math apps to further enhance their learning experience.
