Students learn so much from technology these days. They are also beginning to produce things from their online experiences. Currently, they have fun, engaging programs in math, reading, social studies, science and and they are also already learning how to code! The problem is, we don't have enough computers to meet their needs. Often times, there are students who are asked to pair up with partners or to do other things while they miss out on online opportunities.
My students come from a Title I school where the majority of them are on a reduced-price or free lunch program.
These students work very hard for every achievement they get, and each little push in the right direction will help them obtain all of their goals.
Currently, we are using out of date Nooks that only have a handful of books on them. Half the time, the Nooks freeze and won't allow students to complete their work. Some of the Nooks are even cracked, and the internet doesn't even work.
Having new technology will help make it easier for the students to complete tasks without having to waste any time or lose valuable opportunities because of technology failure.
Knowing that we have three brand-new Kindles that are up to date and easy to use will really go a long way to making our learning environment one that is fun and interactive.
