“We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.” – David Warlick
My kindergarten students are so interested in Science!
My classroom is comprised of 20 enthusiastic thinkers who love technology. All students have their own unique and individual needs which prompts the constant differentiation of instruction. This year, the range of ability within my classroom seems to be wider than usual. There are students working far below grade level as well as students who have been identified as special needs. In addition, my classroom has many English Language Learners.
My Project
The donation of tablets will allow my students to work in a small group on research and content learning. My students will benefit greatly from having access to technology within the classroom. Having 5 tablets as a part of my classroom will greatly enhance the technology skills of my students. My classroom currently gets only 30 minutes of time each week in our school-shared computer lab. The computers are often broken and much time is wasted walking to the other end of campus to reach our lab. Unfortunately, this is not enough time to develop and refine their ability to use technology for learning with our current resources. The tablets will be a learning tool that will allow my students to access technology right in our classroom. The use of the tablets daily in small groups will allow each student to have the ability to increase their knowledge as well as their technology skills. The ink will be used to publish their work on the tablets.
By donating to this project , you will be helping the kindergarten students to develop 21st learning skills that will enhance their learning for years to come as well as spark the love of science while learning technology.
