My Project

My class is a center-based classroom. I believe students benefit from hands-on learning. The students in my class are always moving around from activity to activity. It is a safe environment where students are encouraged to explore. Having new toys and manipulatives will help my children learn to share, be social, be creative and have fun. I am asking Magna Tiles, Waffle Builders, and more. Kindergarten is a developmental year and children at this age benefit from play.

I have a group of 21 energetic kindergarten students.

Each of these students learns in a different way and at a different pace. These students benefit from hands-on instruction as well as whole-group instruction. My school is located in an urban district and is very diverse. The district I teach in is considered a magnet school district. The magnet system was implemented to ensure racial balance in each one of its schools, allowing for diversity. Additionally, the district provides “parental choice,” meaning parents and students can choose which magnet theme (e.g. science, the arts, technology) they are most interested in and apply for enrollment in the school that specializes in that theme.
