Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My kindergarten students are the cutest tiny humans you'll ever meet! The majority of them are ELL (English language learners) and 100% of my class receive free lunch. My students are creative thinkers, eager learners, and they are hungry for knowledge in all subject areas.

Despite the difficulties of COVID and Hurricane Ida, I am committed to providing a happy and healthy academic environment for my students.

My Project

One of my goals as a kindergarten teacher is to help students become responsible and accountable for themselves in the classroom. Data binders give students a visual to help them set goals, keep track of progress, and celebrate when milestones are met.

Data points that will be tracked include: letter/sound recognition, sight word knowledge, beginning/ending sounds, CVC words, number recognition, math fluency, and more!

This will also help me stay organized so that I can differentiate lessons and target student needs for more specific small group lesson planning and overall knowledge of where my kiddos are in their learning journey!
