My Project

Teaching students to self regulate is an invaluable skill they will utilize throughout their lives.

Our school is incorporating "The Regulated Classroom" program by Emily Daniels, M.Ed, MBA, NCC, SEP to encourage ways to co-regulate.

Part of the program involves "settlers". As stated in the Regulated Classroom Guidebook, "Intentionally inviting the body's soothing/settling response rewires the brain and helps people increase their window of tolerance." (Siegel, 1999).

This sensory tent in the classroom will allow students to listen to calming music and settle before returning to the learning environment in a more focused and grounded mindset.
