Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the honor of being able to coach an awesome group of girls using the Girls on the Run program. It helps our students to not only grow physically by working towards the goal of completing a 5k run, but also to develop their social-emotional well-being.

They work hard throughout the season to reach their greatest potential.

We challenge the girls through team-building activities and individual challenges to develop healthy living and social skills.

After school activities help to encourage our students to succeed in the classroom. However, staying late and using lots of energy while exercising makes our students very hungry. They need a snack a break after a long day at school before they can begin to focus on after-school practice.

It is important to help keep their bodies fueled so that they will have the energy necessary to participate in the program.

We love being able to support our students to develop their social and physical well-being, we just struggle to provide them with a snack to help meet all of their needs. These would help us to create a fantastic program for the girls to continue to grow in and out of the classroom.
