This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm a first year teacher but worked at this school as a 'special Covid sub' last year, supporting the other teachers, subbing for them and I had a caseload to contact the parents when students were absent. The school is a continuation school and I'll have students ninth through twelfth grades, ELA and ELD, plus we will get seventh and eighth graders since we accept expulsion students.

I was in the teaching program at my college almost twenty years ago, had kids, worked from home and got back into the teaching program two years ago.

My Project

I'm in need of disinfectant wipes for my classroom. I've been spending my own money on them. We are a Title I school and I don't want to ask the parents for them. In addition, students come to school without basic supplies so I'm asking for pencils and erasers. One student in my class specifically asked for some motivational posters so I added those too. Hoping these will help my students be more successful in class as well as motivated to get there. Also making them know this is their room where it is warm and welcoming for them all.
