Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Thirty third grade students would love to be kept current and up-to-date with news from around the country and around the world written for them, at their reading level.

The students in my class live within walking distance of the school. Nearly everyone lives in the same city block and because of which, their whole world exists in this block of homes and stores. They have very little knowledge of what goes on in other towns in our state, let alone other states in our country and other countries around the world.

Time For Kids and Weekly Reader are newspaper type resources that are delivered to the classroom weekly. They are up-to-date and contain real world information written at their reading level. We also would like a laminating machine and paper so their projects can be preserved and books can be made.

Your help will bring Time For Kids and Weekly Reader into our classroom- a resource that the kids can look forward to each week. The students will be able to broaden their views of the country and the world beyond the city limits.
