Every day in the classroom, I feel an overwhelming positive energy from my students. They enter the classroom excited and engaged, ready to learn and cooperate with each other. They all bring prior knowledge and experiences, willing to share with the community.
Over half of my students come from low-income households, but they only see opportunities when they arrive at school.
Regardless of several challenges that they may face at home, my students thrive on diverse interactions with their peers, enhancing their mind and building their character.
My Project
My students have been thrilled to start studying biographies in reading. However, we do not have enough resources to provide a well-rounded opportunity for learning.
We are craving more biographies about a variety of people to continue our nonfiction learning.
We are curious about famous people as well as non-famous people. We are wondering about boys, girls, men, and women of all colors. We are interested in creative minds, engineers, pioneers, and everything in between.
While we are still building our reading stamina, it helps to have flexible seating options. By incorporating Hokki stools in the classroom, it allows our minds and bodies to stay active at the same time. The Hokki stools are lightweight, easy to move, and make reading time more productive!
