Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with a curious group of English language learners who are learning a new language, reading, writing , math as well as promoting wellness.

This project will allow my students to strengthen their leadership skills by helping others while learning new skills.

Students will make bracelets using the Rainbow loom kit. These bracelets will be a token of friendship for others. Other children will feel seen, and these bracelets will bring a smile. My students will learn to knit using a knitting machine. Knitting is a challenging skill for 9 year olds, so a knitting machine will help them overcome the motor skill roadblock making the process easier, faster and more gratifying. The hats will be donated to a nearby shelter where many of the students from our school call home.
