Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Trenton, New Jersey, is (and this is amazing!) a sanctuary city. Students from nations all over the world immigrate to Trenton with their families. The city, although economically poor in many areas, is rich in cultures and heritage from all corners of the world. We have a growing population of hispanic immigrants, most speaking their native language Spanish. Many of our students, both native and nonnative to Trenton, struggle to meet basic health and hygiene needs each day. This means that it is extra important for us to make sure they are keeping cool in the classroom during the hotter months of the year.

The items I am requesting are to support the health and hygiene needs of our teenagers - I am requesting fans to keep them cool during hot months so they do not need to worry about sweat and body odor.

These basic care items will go a long way in ensuring our students feel fresh, clean, and hygienic when they arrive at school each day. I am requesting one large fan and three portable ones for indoor and outdoor use. Students will be able to access them whenever they need!
