Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a classroom full of eager learners. They are always on task but need supplies that will last for first-grade hands.

We need jump ropes, modeling clay, and new headphones.

My first graders are learning how to jump rope, which will improve their coordination, balance, and even muscle endurance. In one of our science units, my students are learning to be scientists who work at the aquarium to help a sea turtle survive. Making models of turtles connects science with art and increases excitement for learning. Headphones are one of the school supplies that my students constantly need replacing because of their lack of durability. With these new headphones, they will be more focused on the literacy lessons adapted to their levels during independent work/reading workshops. Students can also use headphones to listen to text when they are not able to read books that interest them. These items will go a long way for them!
