We did a wax resist project, where students used white crayons to make a \"secret drawing\" on their papers. We then painted over their drawings to reveal the wax, which resists the paint and the water. \r\n\r\nOur kinders through 2nd grade used the tempera cakes, and the TK class used the paint sticks to create their paintings. It was a very successful day for all of our artists! Although my 5th graders did not receive all materials in time, I was able to give them a meaningful farewell gift of pencils, erasers, and highlighters that made them feel seen and celebrated.\r\n\r\nIn my current TK classroom, these materials have become an essential part of daily learning. Students use their individual pencil boxes for name-writing activities and early literacy tasks, building independence and responsibility.
