Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, we have strived to create and get our student orientated pantry that is filled with personal hygiene items stocked.

This pantry is for students who do not have access to personal care items who lack the financial freedom to make these purchases.

Over time, our students have been lucky enough to gain access to personal care items such as deodorants, body wash, soap and many other personal care items with our care closet through support through DonorsChoose. They often tell me that they need soap, deodorant, body wash and toothpaste. It is our job as educators to help our students. Together we can put a smile on our students' faces when they are given the materials they need the most! While it is important as educations to create a rigorous academic environment, true growth happens when students feel comfortable and confident in themselves before true academic growth can happen!
