Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These items will allow me to create an environment that will promote calmness and safety throughout the school day. The curtains will dull the harsh sun that enters the classroom throughout the day for students that are sensitive to bright lights. The lighting strips will allow me to create a soothing ambiance during quiet work times and periods of sensory play. The drawer locks will allow me to keep items safely stored away. The vacuum is a necessity to keep our rugs clean after fun (but messy) art projects as well as being proactive against air allergies.

My goal is to create and adapt the dynamics of my classroom to make an inclusive setting for all my students and their individual sensory processing needs.

My students are young and eager learners who are not only learning academics but also social skills, daily living skills, and engaging in inclusive opportunities throughout the school day.
