Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My Wiz Kids, as I affectionately call them, are eager, inquisitve, and resilient learners. They often use their curiosity to ask questions when engaged in group conversation and activities. Their willingness to learn can be seen in their desire to dive in to 'unchartered waters,' as they explore and learn new things each day.

They do not allow pressures of their home lives nor their surrounding environment to dictate how hard they work.

Even with a global pandemic currently happening, they rise to the occasion with every task presented to them. Each morning as we arrive at school, I constantly see such beautiful smiles, (even through their masks), bearing the resiliency I wish the world could attain!

My Project

Having a classroom library is important to building literacy skills - especially in the land of Kindergarten! Being able to identify with and relate to the characters of the stories is even more important.

My students love a good story and story time becomes even more engaging when they are able to choose a book that reflects an image of themselves.

By donating to this project, you will help inspire our future leaders by instilling pride in their journey through reading and literacy. Connecting to a story title or book cover is just the beginning of the limitless possibilities!
