My Project

As a journalism teacher, having access to high-quality digital cameras is essential for giving students the tools they need to accurately capture and share the stories that matter in their school and community. A free and responsible student press is an important part of a healthy democracy, and giving students professional-quality equipment helps them tell the truth with clarity, accuracy, and visual impact.

Photography plays a key role in modern journalism.

Strong images add depth to a story, capture emotion, and help readers connect with the events being covered. By learning how to use cameras, frame powerful shots, and capture important moments, students gain technical skills that are expected in today’s media world while also becoming better visual storytellers.

Providing digital cameras is an investment in both the journalism program and in the civic engagement of the student body. When student journalists have the right tools, they can hold their school and community to higher standards. Supporting student journalism means supporting the principles of a free press and helping prepare the next generation to protect and practice those freedoms.
