Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in our classrooms come from low-income backgrounds and are considered "at-risk" when it comes to academics. We are Title 1 school in Dallas ISD. On average, each of us will have 20-25 students in our classrooms at a time, with an approximate total of 125 students throughout the school year. They are set to graduate college in the year 2032 and our classroom colleges are the Texas State Bobcats, the Temple Owls and University of Texas Longhorns!
Our students are full of energy and love to learn!
They care for their classrooms and understand the importance of their education. They love working with technology, especially IXL, and really take ownership of their learning when given the opportunity. Our students last year loved using IXL and we really hope to incorporate it into the education of our students this year!
My Project
"IXL is an amazing resource that we have used in the past, but have never had full access. We plan on using IXL every single day in our classrooms this year. It will be used for checks for understanding in whole group lessons, response to intervention plans for struggling students, extension activities for advanced students, and just overall extra practice to achieve mastery." -Mrs. F.
It will give us individualized and whole group data on our students so we can pinpoint exactly what they need help on.

As a team, we would like to implement the use of IXL regularly. IXL is a program online that our students would be able to utilize to enhance their Math and English Language Arts instruction.
