Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school, so the majority of my students come from low-income backgrounds, and many families struggle to meet basic needs. It is ethnically and culturally diverse. Parents are supportive of the staff and students, and the students are fun, energetic, curious and resilient.

We may not have the resources that are available at higher-income schools, but we have created a caring community and a positive learning environment.

We go the extra mile to ensure students' needs are being met and that all students feel successful. I am proud of our students and of our school.

My Project

Enhancing our student library with culturally relevant and engaging books will hopefully foster a life long love of reading and learning! Time in text is a huge indicator of student achievement; and will build students' creativity, imagination and vocabulary.

Increasing our class library ensures students do not get bored with running our of literature and will have a wide variety of books to read independently, with a partner or listening to the teacher read during a quiet moment.

The more we read, the more we learn! Please help our class develop a well-rounded class library for reading and enjoyment with these books. Thanks!
