I am a Kindergarten Intervention teacher that helps support struggling readers reach grade level in. My students attend a school with over 60% free and reduced lunch. We have 37 languages spoken at our school. I support students from all four Kindergarten classrooms, many of whom are English as a second language learners and special needs students. All my students can benefit from using technology to support their language development and literacy skills. I graduated from Portland State University with an MEd in Elementary Education. I taught Kindergarten for two years at Rigler Elementary in Portland, Or. Before teaching, I worked for Playworks, a non-profit organization that teaches social and emotional skills though play and physical activity. I am hoping to get four iPads to support students during literacy centers. I believe these tools will help engage students help develop a life long love of learning.
