Help me give my students the costumes and props they need to feel exceptional for this year's play "The Lion King!"

My Project

I truly believe that my students are amazing~ absolutely and increasingly bursting with talent, and they will be able to showcase to the world just what they can do by presenting to you Disney's "The Lion King" in May!

We are building a sustainable theatre program for the children of Washington Irving Elementary School and your donations will help add value to their lives for many years to come.

Coming from the west side of Chicago, my students are no strangers to facing challenges, disappointments, and even naysayers. Yet they remain sweet, smart, fearless, and full so much creativity that their brilliance cannot be denied. Since we've begun this program, stars in every grade and avenue of music and theater have emerged. Their dreams are broad and varied, from sound tech and engineering to singing, dancing, acting, and directing, they determined and are making things happen every day. They have ideas! They have become writers and producers, costume designers and makeup artists~ they all have begun to shine.

My Project

The materials I am asking for will greatly enhance the already outstanding performance of our amazing and deserving students. The stage makeup will illuminate the stage and the actors during the "Circle of Life" portion of the show and beyond.

The costumes will help students feel confident delivering their lines.

The art materials will be used to help create the set. Access to these fine materials will affect all of our students’ overall sense of self and belief in their own abilities and this overall experience has already drawn us closer together as a community.
