I want to provide students with some JOY and an opportunity to express themselves. Research shows that the pursuit of creativity through the arts enhances confidence, strengthens compassion, and informs our intelligence which greatly increases success in other areas. Every child is born with special talents and abilities, yet in school those talents are sometimes purposefully hidden or squandered because of high-stakes testing, different academic priorities, and personal challenges that students face daily. I want students to feel their best in every area of their lives; the donation of these items will help foster just that! A classroom rug and drums for my young students; a microphone waiting on gifted words spoken from my older students will make a statement- that your thoughts, creativity, and abilities are valued. When my students enter the classroom, I want them to know that there is a place for them to be themselves~ brilliant, courageous, and talented. Your donation will help students discover themselves and each other by providing joy and confidence for many years to come!
