My Students

My classroom is full of creative kiddos with the best stories. They love to create stories, act out stories and use their imagination. Our young learners imatate the skills the older children have.

I want to facilitate this type of imagination and creativity with new theatre equipment.

In theater, there is a role for everyone. I want to bring out the creativity of each child to participate in making puppets, telling stories and being the audience. Each role will help with different developmental milestones we are working on in class. I can't wait to see what they come up with!

My Project

Returning to school after remote learning during 2019 because of Covid has had it's challenges for us all. The biggest thing for my preschool class has been learning proper social interactions. Many of my students stayed home for half their lives, and this is their first experience playing with other children.

I've seen our play stage help kids who are more reserved come out of their shell and outspoken kids become leaders.

I have seen children open up and come together as they use their imagination to preform familiar stories or make up scenes from their imagination. It always takes a lot of cooperation and team work for a common goal.

In my classroom everyone is needed. With theatre, there is a job for everyone. I love providing my students with what they need to be creative. The character puppets will be perfect for those who don't want to make their own but can easily create stories with a character. The craft supplies to make puppets provides the creative outlet for students to create their own characters. Simple lights and stands will help with recording and sharing their performances with their families. I also added several character sets from familiar stories the students know and love. All these supplies will be used to help foster creativity, work together as a team and interact together.
