Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom serves students for robotics, STEM, computer science and Game Design, physics, and Esports. We are now in year two of our Esports program! The students have access to gaming PCs, the Nintendo Switch, and virtual reality for Esports. Students will compete in Splatoon 3, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, and a variety of PC and PS5 games.

The Nintendo Switch is our most popular eSports gaming platform.

We serve at least 20 students daily on the Nintendo Switch between our lunch and after school programs. This creates a high demand for controllers to play on. Several controllers that we own are starting to drift. This project would help to replenish those broken controllers and provide extras to serve additional students. This will encourage more of our students to compete and collaborate together, improving their social emotional state.
