I have a wide variety of students, which include English learners that speak very little English and are struggling to learn the language, as well as the rigorous Chemistry content. On the other hand, my AP Physics 1 students are mastering the content (or at least striving to), with many of them at the top of their class! Perhaps hardest working of all, however, are my Migrant STEM students. These students attend tutoring after school from 3-5 every day, receiving help in math, science, English, and college prep. Additionally, they are weekly challenged with engaging STEM activities to broaden their minds and depth of thinking. Our school has a tradition for being very successful in academics. We present rigorous content that is relevant to the students with the foundation of our teaching being the relationships that develop.
