Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom serves students in robotics, STEM, computer science and game design, physics, and Esports. We are now in Year Two of our Esports program! Our game design course is a CTE (Career Technical Education) course that is helping to prepare our students for careers in game development. The students have access to gaming PCs, the Nintendo Switch, and virtual reality for Esports. Students will compete in Splatoon 3, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, and a variety of PC and PS5 games.

My students have personally requested the Pokkén Tournament™ DX and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

These resources will primarily be used by our Esports students, as well as those students taking our Computer Science and Game Design CTE class. The game will help to engage students and offer positive reinforcement for completing their assignments early. This increased motivation will help to increase the number of students who engage in the content and show mastery of the standards. The Pro Controller will also help to make this possible. In order to play the game on the Switch, students need access to controllers to play the games. Thank you so much for considering a donation to this project!
