This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology is part of our daily lives and it is important that our children learn with technology. My students unfortunately come from a high-need, low-income agriculture community in California.

This year I have several students that do not speak English at all.

The school is high poverty with 85% of the students receiving a free or a reduced lunch. My students love to learn and get so excited when they can use the computers. Many of my students come to school lacking early childhood experiences. Most of them do not even have computers at home. School is the only exposure they get to technology.

My Project

I am requesting an iPad for my students to learn with. The iPad will enable my students to be exposed to the latest technology and practice their literacy skills at the same time. They will have the capability of using the literacy applications such as tracing letters, practicing letter sounds,and math skills. I will also be able to download eBooks so they can sharpen their comprehension and reading skills.

This project will provide the tools needed to expose these students to the latest technology that they would otherwise not have.

Technology is important to our students since everything is geared to a technological world. Could you help me help them?
