Most of my students are second language learners that come from families that work in the fields. Most of their parents do not even have an elementary education. The children are eager to learn but sometimes have a hard time with understanding number sense and the value of numbers. I would like for them to use these hands on activities and know that 4 plus 2 more is the same as 6.
