Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom was recently lucky enough to have an Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) installed on our wall to replace our screen and projector. The students LOVE being able to interact with, write on, and manipulate all the things on the board.

One cool feature of an IFP is that you are able to use an iPad from anywhere in the classroom to project your work to the screen in the front of the room.

Communication and collaboration between students in my classroom is a foundational skill that we work on every single day. Right now, I (the teacher) am in control of everything that the students see and do on the IFP. My hope is that I can give a little bit of that control back to the students by letting them use an iPad to connect with the IFP and take more ownership of their learning experience. Students will be able to share the iPad to access and display their work on the screen for the class to help explain and evaluate. Student created digital posters, quick instructional videos, and step by step math problem solving can also be shared with our class in real time.

My goal is to strengthen their communication and collaboration skills by using exciting new technology. The possibilities are endless!
