The goal for my students is to be on par with their English speaking peers. One of the challenges is finding creative ways to teach these skills with limited resources.
My students attend k-8 schools in a large city.
The majority of my students speak Spanish as their first language and aside from receiving English language instruction, many of them also receive special education services. These students are excited to learn, especially when presented with hands-on or electronic resources.
My Project
The iPads will provide students with a variety of teacher approved educational apps. These apps will help students increase their English language skills as well as providing technology instruction. Students will use apps such as ABC Mouse to increase basic English skills and Hooked on Phonics to increase phonics and reading skills.
Your donations will enable me to provide more differentiation for my students, allowing different students to work on different skills during the same time.
The iPads will help increase students' technology skills by allowing them to interact with apps and websites on a daily or weekly basis.
