Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, bright, and full of energy. My students face the lack of technology at school and I want to turn that around for them. This year I have noticed high levels of enthusiasm and an increase in eagerness to learn. The students I support face a lot of challenges from single family households and low-income neighborhoods. I know my school is committed to helping students succeed but we don't have the financial resources to make equitable technology possible.

My Project

In this project my goal is to provide students with activities that are done independently and as a group. Currently in our class I don't have any structured games to play with students that help with SEL or situations they may encounter that requires them to be mindful. I am also looking for group readings to do with students centered around the topics of anxiety. I also want to provide students with coping mechanisms they can use in a variety of situations to help them recognize how they are feeling, and a plan of action to deal with that particular emotion.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
