Hello!
Remember going to the library to find your favorite book?
Because of this experience as a child, I have become a life-long reader, and I want to be able to foster that love in my students as well. My classroom consists of students from mostly low-income households and children of immigrants.
Our school is located in the South Bronx in a high needs area. My students are smart, capable, ready to learn, and ready to become life-long readers! Together, with your help, we can make reading an amazing experience for my students.
My Project
If you are a teacher, you know modeling is key. An electronic document camera allows me to place my notebook, a worksheet, or any educational piece of paper, under the camera and model a lesson for my students. I use an electronic document camera almost EVERY SINGLE DAY! Unfortunately, the camera I have is dying...more and more every day. I have to hold the cord into the camera for it work, which isn't feasible for productive teaching. So, long story short, I need a new document camera. For every lesson, I spend some time showing the kids what I expect them to accomplish with the lesson, in order to do this, I use the electronic camera. I would really appreciate your help with purchasing this item so that I can help my students engage in reading on a deeper level.
