And my excitement was contagious! The students helped me open the boxes. They loved seeing the contents and couldn't even imagine how the bean bag chairs came from a box, not to mention the cushions, colorful clipboards, and even a game. \r\n\r\nWe started using the clipboards right away to act as scientists for my mini-microscope unit. The clipboards allowed them move around the room to take notes and work with partners. Also, we used the clipboards when we are sitting on the bean bags. \r\n\r\nEvery day, students rushed to claim a bean bag and they do the classwork from the beanbags. The classroom feels noticeably more cozy and \"like a home\" which had helped everyone feel calmer and more willing to participate in learning phonics and other reading strategies. Students are also more comfortable at their desks using the cushions. If anything, my classroom is the only one with beanbags and cushions and it is known for being the room to relax in now! \r\n\r\nI thank you for the chart paper in my classroom. The chart paper has become my space for anchor charts, vocabulary and diagrams that stay up to support my students during lessons. Soon, the chart paper will be for student-made posters in the future.\r\n\r\nThe Jenga-like emotion block game was a fun time for several students.
