This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Interactive Notebook (IAN) requires the use of a durable composition notebook. Unfortunately these are some of the most expensive types of notebooks. Urban schools are always under serious economic hardships, making it difficult to purchase these on their own.

My students attend an urban school that is always faced with economic hardship, even in good times for our nation.

During these times, my students may not have the finances to purchase the necessary supplies required by our increasing demands in the classroom. They have a desire to learn, but not always have the necessary tools.

My Project

The Science IAN requires time and creativity to complete effectively, it also requires a composition notebook that will last the entire year. With a composition notebook students will be able to keep all of their work in one place making it easier for them to stay organized and carry their materials beyond the classroom and hopefully beyond high school.

With your help these students will be able to develop study methods, organizational methods and real science understanding that will prepare them for a college path.

AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a great program for setting students up for success. This particular aspect of AVID emphasizes the use of color and creativity in the learning and studying of material. Help students continue on this path and prepare for college.
