Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach English at a low income school and this year I would like to be able to provide my students with composition notebooks and highlighters for interactive notebooks. I want everyone to have the opportunity to build their notes and study materials in these books, helping them meet their reading and writing goals for this upcoming school year. I used to use internet-based platforms for their curriculum, but both the rise of AI and the data breaches of many online platforms have pushed us out of those spaces and back to pen and paper.

Last year I found a lot of success in going back to pen and paper, and I would love to elevate their learning this year by providing them with more than just basic notes.

Many of my students struggle with note-taking, so this project will be key in helping them learn self-management and new techniques to meet their personal goals. In addition, I would like to provide them with facial tissues because we often run out and the students have to use toilet tissue, which isn’t ideal, especially for those with chronic allergies. Thank you for your consideration.
