Your generosity means so much to me and my students. With your donation, I was able to create a space for my students where they feel safe, have a calm space in the classroom, and have a space where they can quietly work on their assignments and/or read a book silently to themselves.\r\n\r\nMy students are truly enjoying the space that was created for them. The students enjoy the floor cushions so much that they asked me to take them home and wash them every weekend so that they can use them again. They also enjoy the LED lights and the carpet I've purchased. They have not had the chance to read the books yet, but I hope they will begin to read them soon. \r\n\r\nThe books I received will be used for the students to read for enjoyment and pleasure. My goal with the reading books is for students to increase their reading skills and get them to enjoy reading especially books of their interest. As a special education teacher teaching ELA, I am doing the best to teach my students how to become better readers. Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in the way our students experience this space.\r\n\r\nOur students are using the new calming corner and fidgets when they need a break, feel overwhelmed or frustrated, or simply need a quiet moment to reset before returning to class. One of the most meaningful things we have seen is a student come into the office visibly stressed, settle into the calming corner with a fidget, and gradually become more comfortable talking with an adult. Having a space specifically designed for students to feel safe and supported sends a powerful message: \"You are welcome here, and we have a place for you.\"\r\n\r\nStudents were immediately excited when they first saw the changes. They loved exploring the new fidgets and resources and commented on how much more comfortable and inviting the office felt. What may seem like small changes to a room have helped create a space where students feel more at ease asking for help.\r\n\r\nWe are continuing to help students develop skills to recognize when they are becoming overwhelmed, identify healthy ways to cope, and know when and how to ask for support. The resources you provided allow us to put those lessons into practice every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing not only in our Student Services office, but in our students. With two 90 minute block classes utilizing the one whiteboard, we really needed the second for my two year long classes in Civic Literacy. \r\n\r\nStudents use this whiteboard daily for their warm up and to copy notes on the subject of the day. They also have their vocabulary words listed on it.
