My Students

In my school and classroom, I strive to provide a safe, productive, and comfortable learning environment for all my students' needs. This year, my class is composed of 24 amazing, funny, loving and brilliant third graders!

My classroom is full of laughter, risk-taking, and learning.

My students work hard every day in reading, writing, and math while being goal oriented and kind. My students strive for excellence every day and push themselves to be the best version of themselves which is reflected in their work and our classroom community.

My Project

In my classroom, I have 24 active learners! My students love to listen to new books and share their ideas about our reading. I am asking for a classroom rug to use as a meeting space for our shared read-alouds and a whiteboard easel to write down all of my students' amazing ideas while reading!

Two-thirds of my classroom is reading near or below grade level.

Because of the pandemic, my students' gaps in reading are greater than in previous years. One of the ways we develop reading fluency and comprehension is by doing a shared read-aloud every day. I model for students what a fluent reader sounds like, and after we're done reading, we make connections, observations, and practice skills to meet third grade Common Core reading standards.

By providing my students with a common meeting space, I hope to excite them to come to our shared reading space and also make them excited to share their ideas about books by recording them on a whiteboard. Please help me engage my active learners in reading and give them a space to accelerate their learning.
