Interactive Active Lessons

My students need to see my differentiates video lessons on a bigger laptop that all in the group can see and interact with while I teach another differentiated small group lesson in real time. It works!

My Students

Donors Choose has been so kind to my classroom and my projects, I admit that I have been rather timid but I know that my classroom still needs a few items to complete our Reading Nook and I hope that I can find them here. We ordered a small sofa (child size) for our classroom and it has become the space that everyone runs to at D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) so we need another and a few big pillows for comfiness on the floor.

We are a Title I school, we don't always have some of the technology that schools in more affluent neighborhoods get which is why I have to ask for more for my students.

Some of my Special Needs kids would benefit greatly from chairs that activate their learning instead of challenged them to sit uncomfortably in the same positions. They need to be engaged at every level and thank you Donors Choose for helping with that. So, basically we, need cushions, active seating for our special needs friends and technology, like ipads or tablets and equipment for a listening station. We truly hope that we can find it here. Thank you again!

My Project

It sounds crazy - I know but I sit down for almost 60 minutes everyday when the students are in our inclusion classroom. That's primarily because my kids are high-energy and I MUST keep up with them physically and challenge them mentally. This means that even in small groups lessons where they get the chance to complete work independently, I have to make sure that they are feeling in control of their time but accountable as well. They are only 7-8 years old but I have to give them that impression.

My minions mean business and I want them to be genuinely interested in what they are doing.

Technology stills them, intrigues them and motivates them to learn more about any and anything when they have the opportunity to use technology as a medium. From managing their listening stations to maintaining classroom desktops... they take is all very seriously and I love that!

With a wireless keyboard I am able to walk around while I teach and manipulate the SmartBoard from any point in the room. The powerstrip will keep wires from the 3 desktops and 2 laptops from getting knotted. And lastly, the CD player will help us with our second listening station and back up our old one that is falling apart.

Everything we receive, we will use and appreciate. Thank you Donor's Choose!
