Instruments Without Strings… Help Our Orchestra Make Music!

My students need 20 new and replacement string sets for their violins and violas.

My Students

Our school has many older instruments that are missing strings or have strings that are in need of replacement. Imagine the joy a student has by receiving a violin or viola to borrow for the school year, now diminish that joy because the instrument is incomplete.

The students that will benefit from these new strings are in junior high school, sixth through eighth grade.

They are excited and eager to learn the basics of music through their participation in our orchestra program. Our school is approaching thirty years old and much of the equipment is nearing the end of its useful life.

My Project

The new strings will be used to reinvigorate the many aging instruments owned by the school, which are loaned to students each year. Many violins and violas are missing a string or the current strings are so old that their musical luster has long since past. New strings will revitalize the instruments, and by extension, the performance of the students. Many of the students using school instruments cannot afford to replace strings as they break, which has left several instruments unusable.

The contribution of these new strings will not only positively affect the performance of the violin and viola players, but also the entire orchestra.

New strings will rejuvenate the rundown school instruments by giving them a new life for many years. This will energize the students and help them to continue their involvement in the music program. What better gift then the gift of music?
